As I live in Minnesota the ground is covered with snow. I have a Toro snow blower that has been giving me a hard time this winter. After watching the DVD's I had enough confidence to clean the carburetor and restring the recoil.

I would just like to thank you for your extremely helpful DVDs. The DVDs are helpful and informative for people of any experience level. I started off with exactly ZERO mechanical experience. Before watching the DVDs, I would have flipped out if I had taken a carburetor apart. I wouldn't have known where anything went. NOW, I feel completely confident to repair a small engine. I have already fixed a mulcher that was used maybe once or twice a year if that. I took the carburetor apart, cleaned it inside and out, put it back together, and the machine cranked with no problems. A friend of mine had a mini bike that hasn't been cranked in 15 years. I worked on the carburetor as well and it cranked for a few seconds. Although, I haven't fixed the bike completely yet, the DVDs gave me the confidence to work on the engine and carburetor. Two months ago, I received “kickback” from a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton push mower that put a pretty good lashing on my arm and sprained my thumb. More than upset and fearing to touch the mower until coming to an understanding of why it would do such a thing, I began searching the internet for the cause of kickback and ran across a preview scene of your how-to-video stating that this was due to the lawnmower being out of time. I was impressed with your clarity of speech, knowledge of the subject matter and the hands on visual aid. Instantly, I was on a mission to purchase the 5 disk DVD set to find out how to resolve the problem. When the disks came in the mail I went immediately to the chapter on timing seeking the solution. The next evening after getting in from work, I began working on the mower and after 15 minutes it was “in time” and started up smoothly with no kickback. Unique about your videos is each chapter has that one invaluable 30 second explanation that we “do it your self-ers” spend a lifetime trying to find something or someone to explain. Since receiving your videos I have collected unwanted lawn equipment from relatives, friends and even a trash pick. As a result, I have rebuilt numerous carburetors; 6 for a push mowers, 1 for a garden tiller and 1 for a chainsaw. I’ve even fixed the timing on equipment where individuals underwent the same brutal experience that I had. Additionally, I have replaced starter coils, recoil springs, pull ropes, brake cables, throttle cables, cutting blades, a pressure washer pump as well as de-carbonized heads and valves. My backyard has turned into a showroom floor for used lawn equipment available for purchase. The tools and setup of my home garage is beginning to look like a small engine repair shop and requests for repairing lawn equipment is coming in all the time. I am interested now in learning more about internal engine repair. I won’t be quitting my day job anytime soon, but this could be a future source of income or a great retirement hobby.

I just wanted to let you know how awesome your videos are!

I am a very skeptical person, especially when I see someone advertise a product that seems too good to be true. BUT, I really wanted to learn to fix all the power equipment I had laying around. Between My Fathers old stuff and my Father-In-Laws equipment, I had tons! An older Troy Built Tiller, Gas/Hydraulic Log Splitter,

Troy Built Gas Powered Sprayer and a Honda Push mower, just to name a few of the bigger items. None of them had run for 10+ years and I really wanted them to work, but I couldn't afford to pay to have them fixed, so I invested in your DVD's. WOW!!! I watched a couple of the videos that I thought would be most helpful. Amazed at how easy your videos made it look, I went out, took off a carb and started to clean it. Wow, step by step just like you showed. I found the dirty parts like you said, ordered some new parts and within a week, had the old tiller running like it was new!!! Next I tackled the Honda, I first ordered a rebuild kit, then set in to work. I got stuck, started to panic, then ran in, turned on the video and fixed mine while I watched you fix yours on TV. Just like being there!!! Since then, I have been picking up old mowers, fixing them and then reselling them. Better than that, I took what I learned and took apart my first chainsaw.....rebuilt it using similar techniques.....and VVRROOOOMMM! She started right up!

What can I say? They are awesome, amazed a few people and had a ton of fun! Keep on making new videos! Motorcycles are next!!!!!!!!!

Wanting to start my own small engine repair business, I compared the three options available for a course in small engine repair, Penn-Foster, Stratford and Lawnmower man. The first two required nine months and six months respectively and cost around seven hundred dollars. Your course only required a few days to complete and was very easy to understand due to seeing the work actually being completed. No book or manuals could ever be as effective. I received tJavier Rhe 5 DVD set as well as the parts manual and the "Small Engine Repair" manual and a nice selection of tools for a fraction of the cost of the other schools. Just wanted to let you know what a great product you offer. I purchased the 5 set DVDs for my husband after a few repair places indicated it would cost over $250 to replace the head gasket on our 10+ year old riding lawn mower. The mower has taken a beating and we just couldn't justify spending that on a repair, we both felt we'd be better off putting it toward a new mower but right now we just couldn't afford it.

My husband had given up and was mowing our entire property with a push mower. I ordered the DVDs and he was skeptical, indicating it was probably too difficult for him to do on his own (Mr. Good Wrench he is not!). After the DVDs sat for about 5 days, I finally convinced him to put one in that discussed the head gasket and he watched it for about 15-20 minutes. When he was done he said you made it look really easy and he was even more skeptical. He went out and purchased a head gasket and some carbonator cleaner (less than $8 for both) and came back. In less than an hour I heard the mower running, looked out the window and saw him riding around the yard on it with a huge grin on his face. Thanks for making a great product, a product that is easy for everyone to understand, for saving us over $150 and for giving my husband the confidence to know he can do some of this stuff on his own.

Hello Lawnmower Man , I ordered your "Repair & Maintenance" , and "Carburetors" DVD's this spring , the old push mower I was using was always a hard start and I figured the DVD's were cheaper than either a repair or buying a new one . I watched the course in the evening , and went to work on it the next morning , after 1 hour and $11 in parts , it started on one pull ! I'm not mechanically inclined , and I was more amazed that I got it back together let alone fixed it . Just to prove to myself that it wasn't an accident , I got a mower from a co-worker that had been sitting in his garage for 2 years without working , after 1 hour and $15 in parts , it started on one pull . I probably won't quit my day job anytime soon , but I'll never pay for a lawnmower repair again , thanks .

Just wanted to take a minute and tell you how awesome the DVD set is. The day I received the DVD, it immediately saved me a lot of money. I picked up a free lawnmower a neighbor down the street was throwing away. I had no contact with this person as the mower was just sitting out in front of the house with the word free on it so I did not know what was wrong with it. Your website states that almost all problems involve the carb so that is where I started. I love to tinker with stuff and before watching your DVD I thought to myself if I could not get it running at least I could tear it apart and see how it worked. After watching the carb section of the DVD, I picked up a rebuild kit from my local lawnmower shop. After soaking my carb in cleaner for about an hour, I had it rebuilt in about 20 minutes. It runs GREAT and this free mower now actually runs better than my own mower. I have now watched the entire set of the DVD's and think they are absolutely AWESOME. They sure blow away the Briggs & Stratton manual I had recently purchased. Anyway thanks for putting out such a wonderful product. I am a 28 year old middle school physical science teacher who recently
ordered your lawn mower videos. As a teacher I am always skeptical of people's ability to effectively teach material in a way that is both interesting and educational. I have watched the videos 4 times now and I love them! I was extremely impressed by the quality of the videos and the way concepts were covered, ranging from air filters to Flywheels and clutches. ! I have recently started taking a correspondence course on small engine repair as well and the videos have been an excellent resource to compliment the course work. Just finished all 5 videos... I must say they are Excellent! I live on a small farm and have many machines, such as a Deere riding mower, pressure washer, ATV's, trimmers and so on. These videos were not made by some back yard shade tree mechanic there shot in a real lawnmower shop and it's like your right there getting your hands dirty working side by side with the lawnmower man I'm sure they cost some major cash to produce....This is more like a how to lawnmower course then it is anything else because they cover everything and the things they don't cover you are not going to want to mess with anyway....because by that point it's time to send your lawnmower to that big lawnmower junk yard in the sky...I'm not getting paid. I wanted to write this because it's true. These videos are well worth the money and will be up to date for years to come....

My Name is Rusty, From Southern Missouri. After reviewing, Going through INTENSE Study of your information--- (Meaning) -- watching and watching the information many times... (Rookie Here!) and doing some "Hands-On" training...JUST USING your video information....I Was able to NOT ONLY get my unused Electric Generator working again after 5 YEARS.. (I was in the military and was not able to use it!), and because of your "Video", I was able to "Thoroughly Clean and Replace" the parts I needed "WITHOUT" paying the Extra Labor Charges... But also, My "Murray" 19HP Riding Lawn Mower, which I had repaired (By a repair Shop) only, 2 Months Prior... FOR "Ruff" and "Periodic" engine run....My Mower Started to do the SAME thing only after about 2 weeks after getting it back from the shop......WITHOUT wanting to spend the "Extra Labor Charges" a second time...I used your VIDEO INFO which turned out to be!!! Before I viewed your videotape on lawn mower repair, I knew practically nothing about the workings of small engines. I was truly ignorant when it came to understanding the function and disassembly of a carburetor. Your video gave me the courage and the know-how I needed to fix a neighbor’s snow thrower by simply cleaning the carburetor. But, more importantly, your video enabled me to rebuild a broken-down Mantis tiller/cultivator that I purchased from a garage sale for very little money. I did everything your video showed me. I put the carburetor parts in a can of parts cleaner. I removed the muffler, cleaned the screen and decarbonizes the exhaust opening. I replaced a defective started pawl. I also cleaned out the gas tank as well as the sediment clogging the gas line tube. Next I installed a new gas line filter and checked the gap on the spark plug. To make a long story short, the first time I heard that engine turnover was like music to my ears. I tuned the carburetor like your video instructed and now the tiller/cultivator works like a new one.

I fixed my Tecumseh lawnmower last week thanks to your videos. The engine kept cutting out. I removed the gas tank and drained and wiped the sediment, then took the bowl off the carburetor  There was water visible in the bowl and in the pan into which I had drained the Gas . After replacing the parts and putting fresh gas in, she ran like a charm.

The videos are well produced, and your guidance through the proper sequences and steps of safety, disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting, and re-assembly was awesome. I already disassembled and cleaned a Honda generator carburetor which was really gummed up, and a Walbro carburetor, and was very confident in the procedures. I recently purchased the business course and was skeptical on its value. Sometime ago I had a similar purchase in locksmith and was not successful. Mostly due to the never ending need for specialty tools. With this course you can start out simple and advance as you go. Most people don't have the time to work on their equipment and most repairs are simple. I had some equipment sitting in my shed for a few years myself and after watching the videos ,I had all my equipment up and running within hours. Just getting this equipment running paid for the price of the course!

Great service and very educational. I think anyone with a little mechanical knowledge can keep there equipment in top running condition to avoid most problems to begin with. The knowledge base really covers just about everything you will run into to repair all small engines. Even if the engine is not exactly like the ones he goes over you should be able to figure them out and repair them. I highly recommend the carburetor CD's because most of your problems are carburetor and or fuel. CD's gives you the hands on approach to repairing small engines and some lawn equipment. The power from my weed eater was dropping and opening the choke fully would stall the engine. I knew it needed help but repair estimates approached the purchase cost. Got the DVD's that I ordered from you and watched them with my 15 year old son. We both looked at each other and said this looks easy. We then proceeded out to the garage and tore apart a lawnmower that a neighbor gave us. We took apart the carb and cleaned it out found some junk in a jet) and a broken fuel line. Put it back together installed a new spark plug and she cranked right up!!

Our neighbor then gave us 50 bucks for fixing it. Now my son is out in the neighborhood looking for lawnmowers to repair!!

I can not say enough about the 5 video set that I recently purchased. The quality is great. I do have some minor ability, but what amazed me is that John Siebert explains things even some one trying repairs for the first time can truly grasp. Living up here in the great north east we deal with both lawnmowers and snow blowers. There is no doubt in my mind these will be very beneficial for both machines. Now instead of waiting for something to go wrong and then trying to fix it I can follow John’s tips on pre season readiness. This guy is so knowledgeable that I wish he had more videos available dealing with riding mowers and snow blowers. I always had a chain drive snow blower, but the last one a bought turned out to be a gear drive. These are videos that I wish were available. The way john explains things in his videos there is no repair that he covers that I would be afraid to repair. To put things in perspective last summer my riding mower would not start. I was told it could be a number of things so I figured Septemberbe this is over my head, so I sent my tractor out to be fixed. After paying for pick and delivery and to have a solenoid replaced my bill turned out to be $165.00. If I would have had John's videos I could have saved myself that money. I don't usually do testimonials, but wanted people to know how great these videos are .I will definitely monitor his site to see if he makes more videos dealing with more advanced repairs. I rented them and learned how to and did fix my Tecumseh lawnmower engine which had been starting then dying and then got to where it wouldn't start at all.  The mower always was hard to start. Several months ago I purchased your DVD set containing the carburetors and tune up information.

I watched the entire series and when I got my first lawnmower in the shop, I was literally able to take the pulsa-prime carburetor off and rebuild it, sharpen the blade and balance it, plus change the oil, and clean the air filter from MEMORY. I had seen this done several times obviously on the DVDs, but surprised myself by being able to recall the info and use it without having to have my laptop in my shop.

I can't tell you how comprehensive this set is. I feel very confident in starting my business with your DVD set, and look forward to ordering more in the future as my "retirement" business grows, and I take in more and different small engines. Lawnmower Man, Just wanted to write and say that the videos I ordered really helped me with my interest in small engine repair, especially the one on carburetors. I have already fixed a few lawn mowers and weed eaters for my neighbors to get them ready for the grass season. I am 41 years old and scheduled to retire from my career at 49. I have always been mechanical and would like to start a small business working on small engines from now till retirement so I can have a hobby that makes money in my golden years. I have taken an online course on small engine repair and done very well. This course consisted of books and exams and was expensive. I just want to say that even though I did well and learned a lot from this course, it was nothing like being able to actually watch someone do the work like in your videos. I felt like I was being shown how to do this work instead of just reading about it and it was a whole lot cheaper. I would love to purchase some videos on complete engine tear down and rebuild if they are ever offered in the future. Great videos, keep it up.

You are doing a great thing here, keep up the good work. As a do it myself guy I have been fixing my own junk for years and recently started fixing things for other people. You are absolutely correct about the retailers, dealers and manufacturers – they don’t want the average Joe to know how easy it is to repair your outdoor equipment. All they are interested in is selling you something new that you don’t really need.

I know certified technicians who are raking in $65/hr or more for a $5 job!

I still have the very first lawn mower I purchased over 30yrs ago! I rebuilt the motor twice and it is still runs strong today!

I took a chance on your videos and am pleased to say I learned quite a bit. There are many different types of mowers and engines. It takes away a lot of the fear of working on your mower yourself. I especially liked the videos on carburetors. I never knew they could be so easy to work on. I would recommend these to anyone who either wants to start a career on small engines or just someone who wants to know how the mower works.

I just wanted to write and tell you how satisfied I am with the video set I recently purchased from you. There was nothing more frustrating to me than to have a piece of equipment to not work and not know how to fix it. Your videos are clear and very detailed oriented. Since watching all five videos I have repaired a self propelled lawnmower that has not started in over five years and a walk behind edger that has not run in 4 years. (Both Carburetor I Rebuilt. One a Tecumseh the other a Briggs & Stratton.) Once I completed the rebuilds both units cranked on the first pull. That was music to my ears. Since that time I have been able to help two neighbors with a two stroke string trimmer and a lawn mower that would not crank. I'm proud to say that both units are now working just fine. Your products have already paid for themselves in the first two weeks of owning them.

I recently purchased the lawnmower repair DVDs and the carburetor DVD. I am very happy with the results. I have two lawnmowers in my house that did not work I have fixed them both. Both of them had carburetor problems and after viewing the videos I was able to fix one of them in less than an hour. I was very close to buying another lawnmower for almost $200 but I figured that there was no guarantee that it would continue working after a few months so I decided to buy the videos instead. The best thing about these DVDs is the peace of mind of knowing that you can repair your lawnmower at any time if you need to.

I just received your DVD small engine training videos. I was absolutely glued to them! The very next week I put it into action at work I am facility maintenance for a small town.

We had a red max weed whacker, that did not even start. I fixed it using the information on your video's. It took about 45 minutes that thing was running great. My boss was happy and "this training"- just made me more valuable in my job. I would suggest this training to anyone and I will! Thanks John al

As soon as I received the DVD's, I started watching them. They are very well done. Even my friend Rosie started watching them. She said she was sick in tired of paying someone to repair her mowers at her rental houses. We both learned a lot.

I am sending this to tell you I appreciate the way in which the material is presented in the two video lessons (5 discs) on lawnmower service and carburetors. It is very easy to understand and the down to earth language makes it great to follow. (Even my wife enjoys watching)

The common sense approach and practical solutions are great! I have watched them 3 times and am ready to practice on some old equipment. I am 71 and go easy at first.

Dear Lawnmower Man, I was going to take that online school but now that I got your DVDs I see no need to anymore. I have been watching your DVDs for weeks now

And I went to a small engine shop and talk to the boss there and told him everything I knew from what the DVDs have taught me. He thinks I have learned a lot about small engines. He said he would let me work with him part time the DVDs teach you the basics of small engines repair and what you do with it is all up to you,,, me I ran with it and learn as I go thanks to Lawnmower Mans DVDs I learned something new.
